Today one of our clients, who will not be named. Is under attack. They have a public facing email account on their website. This account as of sometime lastnight has been added to a script which is crawling the internet and filling out thousands of forms on otherwise innocent websites with my clients email address. This is causing literally thousands of emails to appear in their general inbox. This is causing an issue for the client because it is obscuring the REAL email that lands in this box daily.
We are now running our own script detecting these emails. And reporting them ALL as spam. Unfortunatally this is marking thousands of domains as spammers. Who are not actually spammers. But they are not innocent. They all have forms on their website that do not require any kind of captcha. This makes their site very vulnerable.
So our MOTD: Reach out to your web developer and ask them to turn on captcha to verify that humans are filling out your forms. You will get way less Spam, You wont get your domain blacklisted.
