Well Here we are April 2025. We have resolved to be much more regular about weriting in here. Today we are going to talk about what is happening in the world of email. Last week Microsoft 365 Mail servers finally started to turn up the knob on their mail servers. This is making their servers less likley to deliver phishing attempts to their users. Which is a much needed thing. This caused one of our clients to be on their naughty list. Uor client didnt do anything wrong per say. They are an innocent service provider in Ontario, However about 60% of their 1000 automated Invoices sent out at the begining of april were rejected by microsofts servers. After investigation this turned out to be caused by their published DKIM records. Which were at one time corectly configured, but recently their web developer changed webhosts and dns servers. They ended up using the DKIM records recommended by the webhost. If the webhost were also the Email host then this would be correct. But of course the actuall mail host was Microsoft.
The Moral of the story. Keep an eye on your DNS. It can cost real money to have a mis configuration.
